Gregg Kunes is the founder and President of the Kunes Auto & RV Group. Born in Oak Lawn, Illinois Gregg grew up in a large family, eventually going on to work in his dad’s car dealership. Years later, upon reaching a management role in his dad’s organization, Gregg had the opportunity to acquire his own new car dealership in 1997.
Since then, the Kunes Auto Group has expanded to 42 Midwest dealerships (Wisconsin, Illinois & Iowa) that now have over 2000 employees. Of the over 16,000 car dealerships in the United States, the Automotive News has awarded their exclusive “100 Best Dealerships to Work For” in the U.S. to Kunes Country dealerships multiple times. Gregg’s motto is, “We Build People’s Lives.”
In addition to owning the Kunes Auto Group, Gregg owns and manages Delavan Holdings, a company dedicated to providing shared services to all of his holdings. Gregg is the Managing Partner of Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin, which has over 450 employees. He is also a partner of G10 Logistics (formerly Geneva 10). He is also the primary benefactor for Camp Timber-Lee in East Troy, Wisconsin. Gregg also has significant commercial/residential real estate holdings in southeastern Wisconsin.
But Gregg is probably most proud of the many charitable causes and organizations that he has been fortunate to be involved with and contribute to. In fact, Gregg dedicates a 10% tithe of all dealer group revenues to charitable causes through the Kunes Family Foundation. These focus on dozens of food pantries, free clinics, and Christian school ministries. Gregg also brings area pastors together, working in unison to coordinate ministries throughout Walworth County. Abroad, Gregg has funded an orphanage for girls in India, a “Safehouse” for the vulnerable in Belize, plus donates to the Living Hope Christian Ministries in Nigeria.
Gregg has been married to his wife Debbie for over 40 years, has 7 children and 17 grandchildren. They reside in Fontana, Wisconsin.
